The King Of Dopeness Himself: Kelo Of Dopeness

We got a real special one for you guys today from the team over at Lyrical Lemonade! Ladies and gentlemen put your hands together, for the one and only… Kelo of Dopeness! One of most poppin assistant directors in the game for the past few years, having the privilege to work with some of music’s biggest names such as Eminem, Juice WRLD and Nipsey Hussle to name a few. But Kelo knew his sole purpose wasn’t just being behind the camera, working and showcasing what others have to offer. Over the past couple of years he’s released a good amount of solo work independently accompanied with 5 music videos. In 2021 alone he dropped 4 singles and an EP including 6 tracks with only one feature. Which fits the pattern we’ve seen so far with his material, being that he tends to push out mainly solo work. Not to say he’s exclusively dropping solo work like J Cole for example, but what that’s doing is giving us a feel for who Kelo really is as a musical artist. We’ve seen what he’s capable of doing behind the videos but there’s a lot more to Kelo. The most recent from his 2021 drops was the single “Jagged Edges” coming out back in mid November which left fans craving more music. Harmonizing and spitting bars over a beautiful piano filled instrumental, you can hear and feel just how comfortable Kelo is delivering in the studio. The music video for that single was truly a work of art showing all sorts of things from behind the scenes, fan interaction, crowds at live shows going HAM, and pieces of concentrated shots of Kelo performing the song. But what really stood out from the video was watching people do something that many find impossible to do nowadays, and that is living in the moment. No phones, just people enjoying music and being present really gave the video such a pure feeling. And funny enough, just when this article was being wrapped up and finalized, Kelo drops a brand new single hot off the skillet titled “Pussy and Reefer”. What we could do is paint a picture of this new song for you guys, but we'd rather you go listen to it right now by clicking the title of the track! Our team here at Splash Bakery is excited to keep watching Kelo do his thing in life because whatever he touches turns to gold.
